🔐 How Your Data Is Protected

Your data never leaves your device in readable form — the website is a structural shell, not a data store.

🔐 Local Encryption All data is encrypted directly on your device using AES-256-GCM before any storage occurs.

🗝 You Hold the Keys Your password never leaves your device. Without it, encrypted data is mathematically unreadable to anyone.

🖥 Website = Shell Only The website delivers the app interface only. It does not store, log, or process your personal data.

☁ Zero Server Storage Our servers hold only public app code. There is no user database. Even a complete server breach exposes nothing personal.

🔒 Encrypted in Transit Any transfer between your device and the app uses HTTPS/TLS so it cannot be intercepted in readable form.

🛡 Breach Resistant Because we never hold your data, there is nothing for an attacker to steal from our infrastructure — by design.

Technical Details

PBKDF2 Key Derivation — Your password is processed through PBKDF2 with 200,000 iterations of SHA-256 and a unique random 16-byte salt stored locally. This makes brute-force attacks computationally prohibitive.

AES-256-GCM — All vault data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, the same standard used by banks and governments. A new random initialisation vector (IV) is generated on every save, so no two ciphertexts are identical.

Key in Memory Only — The decryption key exists only in browser memory while you are logged in. Locking the vault or closing the tab immediately clears it — it is never written to disk.

Backup Files — Exported backups are encrypted JSON. Store them in a password manager, on an encrypted drive, or alongside your printed access card. Treat them like a house key.
